Lu Research Institute of Matter Regularity of Shanghai
(HLRIMRS)
is a non-profit, membership and
private scientific organization in Shanghai, China
which founding in March, 2000 for the purpose of
putting in order and categorizing Hoff Lu's
science legacies. UCI Researcher Jia Grace Lu Recognized by President Bush with Prestigious Early Career Award 5.6.04-Jia G. Lu, assistant professor of chemical engineering and materials science as well as electrical engineering and computer science, was honored today by President George Bush with a 2002 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. Know for her research in nanotechnology, Lu is among 57 receiplents of the nation's highest honor for scientists and engineers at the outset of their independent research careers. Lu has advanced the frontiers of knowledge in spin electronics, considered to be the defining concept of 21st century electronics, by her work on ultrafast nonvolatile electronics. Her work combines concepts in faster, more reliable electronics with nanotechnology. She transfers her research knowledge through education program emphasizing outreach to underrepresented groups and by involving graduate, undergraduate and high school students in the developing field of physics, materials science and nanoscience. In her research, Lu attempts to understand the science in nanofabricated structures by probing the quantum states and dynamics of charges and spins. A Sculpture and His World Yes, he lives in our memory though he left us five years ago, His soul has never died, His sculpture and spirit will always be with us. I am using a special way to honor this great person by constructing a great monument built by the words to describe him with never extinguished Chinese characters: The Father of Nuclear Energy in China. Hoff Lu was a distinguished scientist, he had a profound mind, erudite knowledge, great attainments with macroscopic physics, microcosmic physics and a universal view of physics. During 1940-1941, he and two physicists had a project in the United States. He didn't continue to work with them because the Japanese army was invading China and he went back to the homeland for the loving nation. Not much later, those two physicists finished the project and got the Prize; therefore, two time Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics John Bardeen gave a speech in Shanghai Scientific Hall in the 80's on the 20 century, and he said, " if Hoff Lu is still in the United States, I am sure he will have the Nobel Prize". Tianjin, China A few months ago, a serious young Chinese lady stepped up to the speakers podium, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her fascinating personality and elegant demeanor was seen and felt by the more than 300 special invited attendees. Most of the special invited guests were scientists from countries around the world including America, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Russia, the country Host. The event was the Annual International Congress 2000. The Harvard Ph.D. now assistant professor of Physics, Washington University, USA, was the keynote speaker. The audience was captivated by her renowned presence and unusual scientific research presentation. The Chinese lady, Dr. Lu, Jia卢嘉, a member of Hoff Lu Research Institute of Matter Regularity of Shanghai which just had their grand opening, was speaking to present to the International Congress 2000 Professor Hoff Lu's manuscript. Professor Hoff Lu was more than just an international well known physics scientist and "The Father of Nuclear Energy of China", Hoff Lu was the young Ph.D. speaker's grandfather. Lu, Jia卢嘉 spoke convincingly of her late grandfather's manuscript, challenging the problems to Einstein's Relativity Theory. As Dr. Lu, Jia卢嘉 finished and walked from the podium with loud applause from the audience, they knew that this young Ph.D. was the new star of physics. ...
